Neuro: A Science Fiction Collection
Hello, everyone. I've been very much preoccupied these past couple of days. Most of that time has been spent tending to my crowdfunding campaign. Also, I managed to write a 6,000-word short story for the Fantasy Writing Contest. But somewhere between writing a press release and writing a prequel to Guardians & The Lost Paradise, I managed to publish a new book on Amazon.
Wow. That's a lot of links. But back to the new book. It is actually a collection of my three existing sci-fi novellas: The Mediator, The Host and The Second Rebellion, each one centering around a different application of Neuro, a technology that allows the human mind to be interfaced with a computer. I wasn't going to announce this on the blog, mostly because I didn't think I would be able to find the time to write this post. But then I remembered the main reason for maintaining this blog in the first place, which is to document my journey as a writer and my experiences with self-publishing.
So there you go. Now, time to get back to that campaign.
Michael, congratulations! I'll mention it Friday in the Ninja News.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alex. You're far too kind. :D
DeleteCongrats on the new book!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kyra. :)
DeleteI think you're allowed a bigger shout out on your own blog!
ReplyDeleteI bought it - I'm not sure when I'll get round to reading it, I've got a queue building up!
Wow. Thanks, Anna. I hope you'll get to enjoy it soon enough. :D
DeleteALWAYS announce these things on your blog - otherwise HOW WILL WE KNOW? Can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteDuly Noted. Thanks. :D
DeleteThe thing I hate is that these are all digital editions. I don't have an e-reader. But congrats!
ReplyDeleteThanks, man. And it's about time you made the switch. Dedicated e-readers retail for $100 and under nowadays. The best part is you don't even need one to read ebooks. Just download the free Kindle app for your PC or mobile phone, and you're good to go. :D
DeleteI know some of them are cheap, and I guess it's cool to have an app for that, but...I like physical books. I can surf the Internet for digital reading. It's about having different formats for different intentions. You can play Wii and similar platforms all day, but that does not mean you're actually doing any physical activities. It's like in The Matrix where they mention the reason why everything tastes like chicken, because the machines don't really know.
DeleteI think I understand what you mean. Physical books would forever have a place in our hearts. But in terms of pure convenience, nothing beats a dedicated ereader.
DeleteI guess once you make the switch it's hard to look back. There's nothing like walking around with the entire library of Philip K. Dick and Isaac Asimov books in the palm of your hand. ;)
I just wandered over from Alex's blog. Congrats on the release. I'll check it out. Great looking cover.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rusty. Hope you enjoy it! :)
DeleteCongrat Michael. This is a great idea. @Rusty, you're right. That cover is awesome.
DeleteThanks, Maurice. It's an idea that has actually been in the pipeline for a while now. But I finally decided it was time to let it out.
DeleteBy the way, the cover really is awesome.
DeleteThanks. The painting was done by a brilliant artist I stumbled across on DeviantART. She's credited in the book. :)
DeleteCongrats Michael! Your cover is beautiful & the stories sound exciting. I hope you sell a ton!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy. I hope so too. Only time would tell though.
DeleteVery impressing Michael. You should disclose your secret motivation that urges you to write so much and,I am sure, so well. I wish you success in your campaign :). Kisses.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Unikorna. The final countdown begins!
