IWSG: A to Z Minion

It's the first Wednesday of the month, and time for members of the Insecure Writer's Support Group to share their writerly insecurities. The group was started by Alex J. Cavanaugh, and those interested in joining in can visit www.insecurewriterssupportgroup.com for more information.

My insecurity for the month centers around next month's Blogging from A to Z Challenge. I know I touched upon that last month, but that was before I decided to make a deeper commitment to the challenge by enlisting to become one of the A to Z minions. That's right, I would be helping out the A to Z co-hosts, or more precisely, the lovely S. L. Hennessy, who was coincidentally a minion for last year's challenge.

What this entails is that I would be assigned a small portion of the list of participants, and I would be required to check on them from time to time, to make sure they are still taking part in the challenge. It sounds simple enough, until you take into account the fact that I am yet to schedule any of my challenge posts. I have traditionally chosen to do so a day or two before each day's assigned letter, but I would ideally love to have everything scheduled before next month.

On the plus side, I have at least taken the time to outline my posts, so that I have at least a vague idea of what I'll be highlighting for each day of the challenge. And just like last year, I find myself torn between choices for each letter of the alphabet. But more on that during the Theme Reveal blogfest later this month.

  1. You can do it! Just get those posts scheduled and you won't have anything to worry about.
You're on an awesome Team. SL was one of my Minions last year.

    1. Thanks, Alex. I will. And I am not surprised she was on your team last year, the two of you being awesome like that.

  2. You're taking on a lot of responsibility there. I don't even know if I'm going to participate in A to Z this year. Good luck. I'm sure you'll do great.

    1. Thanks, Jennifer. I do hope you decide to participate. This would be my fourth straight year, and I somehow know (don't ask how) this year wouldn't be as much fun without you in the mix.

  3. Bravo you in being a minion!!! Super and I know you'll do a super job. Get on the ball dude, and start writing those A to Z posts. I have six left to do and am juiced that I'll have that much more time to visit blogs since I'll have all of my posts done! Do you have a theme you're working on?

    1. Thanks, Lisa. And yes, I do have a theme which I will reveal during the upcoming Theme Reveal blogfest, though I think you can probably guess what it is with one glance at my previous IWSG post. :)

  4. Sorry, I was sick all last week and am only NOW getting around to all my IWSG friends. A week late, ugh. But you're going to be an amazing minion. And we're a team, so any help you need, I'll be there to support you. I'm so glad you've joined the A to Z team and my crew this year!

    1. Hi, Lauren! Sorry to hear you've been sick. Hope you're better now. I am so glad to be on your team too, and I would do my best to fulfil my minion duties. :D

  5. Looking forward to your theme reveal Michael! Will be stopping by during A to Z to see what you select for the alphabet letters. Have fun co-hosting! I think we all have a tendency to forget about that simple three letter "F" word.

  6. Yeah Michael. When I did the challenge having the outline was the most important thing since it took a lot of stress off last minute postings.
